Vandemoortele is alive to the person.

For the past 13 years, Gunther Ongena has worked as a Vandemoortele employee at the Eeklo plant which manufactures frozen croissants, chocolate buns and biscuits. Starting out in the production hall, he soon found himself in charge of quality control before moving on to becoming foreman, 2 years ago now. Gunther: "My dad was a baker, which means we were no strangers to Vandemoortele. The thing that appeals to me most in Vandemoortele is the fact that you know everybody by their first name and there is hardly any formal hierarchy between you and your manager. The one thing you are not at Vandemoortele is a number; they know you personally and their door is always open. There are no topics that are off-limits. Plus you get to work in a modern, highly automated plant and I'm proud of what we manage to do here, all of us together as a team."
